Iron Man's alter ego Anthony Edward "Tony" Stark is a characters by Stan Lee I fictional cartoon character created in 1963 published by Marvel Comics. He first appeared in Tales of Suspense # 39, the cover of which was designed by Jack Kirby, Heck's collaborator in the development of the armor design. Brilliant billionaire inventor, playboy and philanthropist owner of Stark Industries, Tony Stark is kidnapped in Vietnam by being injured by a mine and, instead of building weapons of mass destruction as ordered by his captors, he uses the time of his imprisonment to build a armor that can save his life and allow him to return to his homeland where, later, he assumes the identity of Iron Man becoming a superhero, a founding member of the Avengers. Distinguished by the charismatic and cordial character although serious, eager for power and often willing to use subterfuge, lie and deceive even his allies, if he deems it necessary, prerogatives that have often led him to conflicts with superheroes such as Spider-Man, Thor and especially Captain America, known for their outstanding honesty.
